Founding Directors Jonathan Rosham and Darien Jagger bring over 50 years of combined experience with small and micro-cap companies. Our approach is capital appreciation through well-researched investment opportunities rather than fee-driven product distribution.
We align our interests with those of our clients through equity investments and performance-based remuneration, ensuring mutual alignment and a strong foundation for success for all stakeholders.
At Cygnet Capital, we specialise in providing recommendations on individual stocks. Our research-focused and disciplined investment selection criteria are aimed at providing investments that can exhibit significant capital growth. Our portfolio and advisory clients own their investments directly in their own, personalised accounts, rather than owning units in a managed fund.
Our Approach
Our “stock picking” approach is exclusively available to qualified, high-net-worth, sophisticated, institutional and professional investors.
Our investment universe is primarily ASX-listed companies under $300 million in market capitalisation. Cygnet Capital has made this universe of stocks its niche. We believe that the low levels of research coverage and liquidity of the shares in some companies can cause significant mispricing compared to the broader ASX.
The extended Cygnet Capital team are constantly researching, assessing and sourcing opportunities. Our recommendations are driven by in-house analysts, allowing us to identify undervalued companies, emerging potential market trends and promising macro-economic opportunities.
We understand the importance of clear and consistent communication, and we strive to keep our clients informed about their investments through regular updates and reports. Our goal is to foster long-term relationships built on trust and mutual success.
We employ a diverse sector strategy that spans resources, technology, energy, and health sciences. Notably, we avoid investing in property or real estate companies. Our broad mandate enables us to evaluate and invest in opportunities based on their individual merits. Our advisory method is collaborative.
We charge our portfolio and advisory clients a fee per transaction, rather a management fee and performance incentives on assets under management.

Jonathan Rosham is a seasoned Australian investment professional and co-founder of Cygnet Capital. With over two decades of experience in financial markets, Jonathan has earned a reputation for identifying high-growth opportunities in the micro-cap sector on the ASX. He holds a degree in Commerce with a major in Finance from the University of Western Australia.
Jonathan's previous experience includes research and sales roles at Porter Western (now Macquarie) and Merrill Lynch, as well as managing the Melbourne office of Montagu Stockbrokers (now Canaccord). As the CEO of Cygnet Capital, based in Melbourne, he has been instrumental in advising and funding emerging companies across various industries.
Additionally, Jonathan collaborates closely with our analysts, overseeing the investment process and making final investment decisions for our portfolio, institutional, and advisory clients.

Darien Jagger is a founding partner and the Executive Director at Cygnet Capital, where he leads strategic initiatives in investment banking and capital markets. With over 25 years of experience in the Australian financial services industry, Darien has built a reputation for delivering strategic, results-driven advice across a broad spectrum of corporate finance transactions.
He has advised on a wide range of complex deals, including mergers and acquisitions, capital structuring, equity and debt raisings, and strategic financial advisory. His deep understanding of market dynamics and commitment to client outcomes have positioned Cygnet Capital as a trusted partner to growth-focused companies and institutional investors.

Holding a Bachelor of Business Management, Sherri has built a career defined by precision, integrity, and strategic insight. Sherri has been a cornerstone of Cygnet Capital’s growth, having spent the majority of her career with the firm. Her extensive background is in financial operations and regulatory compliance. For over twelve years, Sherri served as Executive Assistant to Darien Jagger, supporting high-level corporate finance activities, including deal execution, investor relations, and strategic planning.

Mr Cathcart has 30 years’ experience in energy and mining investment analysis including extensive experience in these sectors at a technical, corporate and financial level, working in oil, gas, gold, copper and nickel at several major operations.
He made the successful transition to the financial sector and broking in 1994 where he established a very strong reputation with several brokers including Baillieu’s, BT, HSBC and CommSec before running the Resources portfolio at Thorney Investments.
Previously, Mr Cathcart was an investment manager at Thorney Investments for a significant period of time and was recently a director of stockbroking firm Rawson Lewis. He is currently a non-executive director with Helios Oil and Gas.

David has over 25 years of experience in financial markets, with a focus on micro-cap companies in the mining, energy, and technology sectors. He has worked across capital raising, investment analysis, and strategic transactions.
He joined Cygnet Capital over 10 years ago and, between 2015 and 2018, was based in the U.S., where he played a key role in the acquisition of Ioneer’s Nevada lithium project.
Earlier in his career, David worked in consulting, specialising in strategy and business optimisation. He brings over 40 years of broad professional experience to his role.

Naheed has more than 20 years’ experience in funds management, specialising in Australian equities research and portfolio management, with a particular focus on small-cap and microcap companies. He has covered a broad range of sectors, including biotech & healthcare, technology, consumer services, commercial and professional services, industrials, property and precious metals.
Most recently, Naheed was a founding partner of Flinders Investment Partners and Deputy Portfolio Manager of the Flinders Emerging Companies Fund, an ASX small-cap and microcap equities strategy. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce (majoring in Finance and Economics) and Information Systems, and is a CFA Charterholder.
